He is now 11 pounds lighter than he was when he was sixth in the Altima at the Festival, leaving him competing with trainer Tom Lacey in good shape.

Henry de Bromhead performed well in the recent Cheltenham meeting and has strong claims with the Brampton Bill.

She had useful amateur John Gleeson aboard and was a strong third on her return to Galway.

Third stop Broadway Boy, Mr. Coffee

BROADWAY BOY did well to come within three lengths of Flooring Porter here the last time he had to give weight to the dual Stayers’ Hurdle winner. He jumped well overall considering this was only his second run over fences and he can follow up on this one. There should be more to come.

Mr Kofi has great ability but this is his tenth time over the fences and he has yet to score.

He was a good third in the National Hunt Chase here although the trip stretched his endurance and he should follow this challenge better.

LEG 4 An unexpected party, the real racket

UNEXPECTED PARTY recorded a personal best big score over fences when she beat potential star Knappers Hill at Chepstow on the return last month.

He is looking at a fair handicap mark and came close in the novice competition over this course and distance last season. He goes to any pitch and can improve again.

The Real Whacker showed his class when he won the Brown Advisory Award at the festival when he fought Gerry Colombe.

That means he has to give up weight everywhere here and he needed his first outing last season. He is still a key player thanks to his impressive jumps but he has bigger goals this season.

LEG 5 Judicial Law, First Friend

JUDICIAL LAW has run a crusher up until this trip when he got a quick second here last time out. He’s been up 3 pounds due to this excellent effort and he’s going anywhere.

It has been a long time since he had a bad race and he should improve as a six-year-old.

Buddy One was third in the Martin Pipe race at the Festival and he comes here on the back of a good win in Galway.

He tried to go this distance for the first time but he didn’t stop for more than at least 2 meters and 6 feet so he had to go home.

LEG 6 Sparkling Grey, Springwell Bay

RESPLENDENT GRAY was useful in the junior ranks last season and performed well behind the highly rated Captain Teague on his return at Chepstow.

It was in the second-tier Persian War where he was clearly the best among the rest. He has decent weight for a starting handicap and should improve for this step up in distance.

Springwell Bay was scouted in the top category at Aintree in April but that came at the end of a long season.

He has been third on this card for the past 12 months and is rated the biggest threat.
